FLORENCE, Ky. - Turfway Park's 22-day racing schedule that will begin on Sept. 3 will include five graded stakes races, the track announced Friday.
The only Grade II stakes race on the schedule is the $350,000 Kentucky Cup Classic, which will be run as part of the Kentucky Cup Day of Champions on Sept. 13. The 1 1/8-mile race will be for 3-year-olds and up.
The track will host four Grade III races, including three on Sept. 13 - the $175,000 Turfway Breeders' Cup Stakes for 3-year-old and up fillies and mares; the $100,000 Kentucky Cup Juvenile Stakes for 2-year-old colts and geldings; and the $100,000 Kentucky Cup Sprint for 3-year-olds.
The final Grade III race, the $100,000 Turfway Park Fall Championship for 3-year-olds and up, will be on Sept. 27.
